Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer Finalize Divorce After Seven Years of Marriage

Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer are officially divorced. Page Six confirmed on Monday that the comedian and the chef have settled their divorce at the New York Supreme Court, bringing a formal end to a marriage that began in 2018.
The court record
According to Page Six, the couple's case status was listed as disposed. People, confirming the same news on October 26, likewise cited the New York Supreme Court's updated case status. Because divorce records in New York are sealed, neither outlet could confirm the exact date the divorce was finalized.
The final step follows months of steady progress through the courts. Page Six reported on September 25 that the former couple were nearing the end of their proceedings after submitting a proposed divorce judgment, along with orders concerning support for their 7-year-old son, Gene. The pair had filed a divorce agreement on September 24.
A seven-year marriage
Schumer, 45, and Fischer, 46, married in secret in 2018 and welcomed their son, Gene, in 2019. Schumer filed for divorce in January 2026, a month after confirming on social media that she and Fischer had separated.
Her December 2025 announcement set the tone for an amicable split. "Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years," she wrote at the time. "We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time."
Shutting down speculation
Schumer has also pushed back on speculation about the reasons behind the split, making clear that it had nothing to do with her weight-loss journey. She has repeatedly asked for privacy as the former couple focus on raising their son, and the finalization now closes the legal chapter on a separation that was, by her own account, handled with mutual respect.
