Tyler Cameron and his partner Sharna Burgess, and Jackson Olson and his partner Emma Slater, were eliminated in a double elimination on Dancing With the Stars Horror Movie Night on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, USA Today reported. The results cut the Season 35 field from ten couples to eight.

How the double elimination worked

No couple had been eliminated the previous week, on Dedication Night, Page Six reported. Judges’ scores and viewer votes from that episode were carried over and combined with this week’s scores and votes to decide which two couples would leave, according to USA Today and Page Six.

The final three couples facing elimination were Olson and Slater, Cameron and Burgess, and Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik, USA Today reported. Ali and Ravnik survived, while Cameron and Olson said their goodbyes. USA Today reported that Cameron appeared upset after his dance and apologised for his performance, while Olson was described as gracious in his farewell.

Horror on the dance floor

The remaining couples performed routines inspired by horror films, USA Today reported. Cameron and Burgess performed a Viennese waltz to Annie Lennox’s “Love Song for a Vampire”, inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Page Six reported, while Olson and Slater performed a contemporary routine to Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life”, inspired by Joker.

The judging panel included a fourth guest judge, Shirley Ballas, head judge on Strictly Come Dancing and the mother of professional dancer Mark Ballas, USA Today reported. Julia Stiles opened the show with an Argentine tango inspired by The Omen, a film whose 2006 remake she starred in, earning 26 out of 40, according to USA Today.

A perfect score, and what comes next

Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson earned 40 out of 40, the first perfect score of the season, USA Today reported, for a contemporary routine inspired by the Saw franchise. The perfect score underlined how strong the field has become, even as two couples departed on the same night.

The eight surviving couples return for Disney Night, The Hollywood Reporter reported, with Cynthia Erivo joining as a guest judge. After a night built on horror, the competition now turns to its most family-friendly theme, with the Mirrorball Trophy still wide open.
