Jenny McCarthy says she is living in a tent in her backyard while she works through a long detox from mold poisoning, Page Six reported. The television personality and Masked Singer judge shared the detail on the 29 October episode of her podcast, The Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg Show, explaining that anxiety about where she sleeps has pushed her outdoors.

“I live in a tent”

“Because I am paranoid now about basically sleeping anywhere, I live in a tent,” McCarthy said on the episode, according to Page Six. “I’m not even joking.” She showed listeners a video of what appeared to be a tan camping tent in her backyard, covered with a rainproof sheet that she said was there to protect against “chemtrails” and sprinklers. Page Six noted that the tent appeared to be at a California home, as McCarthy said she was not worried about rain in California.

McCarthy, who is married to actor and singer Donnie Wahlberg, said she is in month seven of a mold detox and feels “too paranoid” to live anywhere else. “That’s where this journey has brought me,” she said, according to Page Six. “After all of those surgeries, after being diagnosed with Mycotoxin poisoning, I feel a little bit sometimes crazy and like the walls are caving in and paranoid.”

A two-year health struggle

McCarthy was diagnosed with mold poisoning in December 2025, Page Six reported, after being assessed by a doctor. In the description for the new podcast episode, she described two years of medical difficulty, including a tooth extraction, dental implants falling out and a recurring eye growth, and said she would share where she believes the mold exposure began and the treatments she is trying now.

She has spoken publicly before about the toll the problems have taken. “It’s really, really hard, and they talk about people with mold poisoning having PTSD, I’m still in the traumatic part,” she said on the new episode, according to Page Six. Page Six said it had contacted McCarthy’s representatives for comment and had not heard back.

What she says comes next

For now, the tent stays. McCarthy framed the arrangement not as a stunt but as the place she currently feels able to rest, while she continues treatment and shares updates with her audience. Her account is her own description of her health; Starlight News is reporting what she said on her podcast and what Page Six reported, and has not independently verified the medical claims.
