Jimmy Fallon Roasts Trump's Rally Remarks About Senator's Physique on 'The Tonight Show'

Jimmy Fallon turned President Donald Trump's comments about Senator Jon Husted's physique into a Wednesday-night comedy bit on The Tonight Show — playing rally footage that drew a mix of applause, groans and laughter from his studio audience, TheWrap reported on October 22.

The rally clip

Fallon opened his monologue noting that Trump had held a rally in North Carolina the previous night and "got a little off topic describing the physical appearance of Ohio Senator Jon Husted". The show cut to the rally footage, where Trump told the crowd he was "studying" Husted's body. As transcribed by Soap Central, Trump said: "I'm studying his body. I've never studied the body of a man before. It's not my thing. Nothing wrong with it, of course. But I looked at his a**. And then I looked at his legs. And I said, his a** is like... It's like a pile of muscle."

Fallon's punchlines

Fallon looked on in mock disbelief as the audience reacted, then delivered a series of jabs — including "Trump was like, 'Welp, one poll just went up.'" He closed the bit with a crowd-pleaser: "Honestly, it's nice to see that Trump can make men just as uncomfortable as women. Isn't it nice? Equal opportunity." The audience erupted in cheers, according to TheWrap's report on the segment.

A busier week for the host

TheWrap noted Fallon has stepped up his political comedy ahead of the midterms — notable because he is generally seen as less biting than fellow late-night hosts Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers and John Oliver.

The bit folded into a week of midterm-focused monologues that TheWrap has covered across recent nights, as Fallon's comedy has turned more political with the elections approaching.
