Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton's Past Feud Reignited Over Biography Snub

The decades-old saga between Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton has a new chapter. The two reality icons are once again at the center of a reported rift — this time over Hilton's repeated absence from a new biography about Kardashian.

Jonathan Van Meter, the journalist behind the upcoming Kardashian biography "Citizen Kim" (out October 27), revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published Friday that Hilton had agreed late in the writing process to be interviewed. But the sit-down never happened. Van Meter said he had sent questions and connected with Hilton's assistant, but the interview "was canceled 17 times over about four months," according to Page Six's account of the interview. "Eventually I thought the cancellations were more interesting than whatever she'd tell me," he told the outlet.

Van Meter said the request was unusual: for everyone else who gave quotes for the book, Kardashian had simply sent a text. Hilton, he claimed, was the only person who turned him down — and Kardashian "was so mad" when she found out about the flakiness. "It seemed to stir up some ancient irritation between them," he told the outlet. "The creation turning on the creator."

A different account

A source pushed back on that version of events, telling Page Six that it is not true Kardashian is mad at Hilton — and that the two remain supportive of each other and involved in each other's upcoming projects. Page Six said it had reached out to representatives for both stars for comment.

A friendship that defined a generation

Hilton was once Kardashian's boss — Kardashian famously worked as her closet organizer before becoming a reality star in her own right. The two were photographed together at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, suggesting the relationship had long since thawed. Whether the biography row reopens old wounds remains to be seen.
