Kourtney Kardashian Reveals the Dating Advice Kanye West Gave Her

Kourtney Kardashian revealed an unexpected source of relationship wisdom on Thursday's episode of The Kardashians: her former brother-in-law Kanye West. The 47-year-old recalled that West once told her, "I feel like God is calling me to tell you that you should not hook up with any randoms until you are with your husband" — and that she took the advice to heart, according to reports from People and Page Six.

The moment on the show

The exchange unfolded while Kourtney was visiting her stepson Landon Barker, 23, at his new home, People reported. When the conversation turned to relationships, Kourtney — somewhat jokingly — advised the young men to "wait until you get married" to be intimate, adding: "That's my advice. Don't waste your energy." A producer then asked whether she and husband Travis Barker had followed that rule themselves. "No," Kourtney admitted — before sharing what West had told her years earlier. "And I didn't," she added of following his guidance about casual hookups, according to Page Six.

West's place in the family story

West was married to Kourtney's sister Kim Kardashian for eight years before they split, and the former couple share four children — North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7 — according to Page Six. During that marriage, from 2014 to 2021, he was Kourtney's brother-in-law, People reported. Kourtney began dating Barker in early 2021 after years as neighbours and close friends; they married in 2022 across three ceremonies and welcomed their son, Rocky, the following year. Kourtney also shares Mason, 16, Penelope, 14, and Reign, 11, with ex Scott Disick, whom she dated on-and-off from 2006 to 2015, according to Page Six.
