Louis Partridge to Star In and Produce 'One Last Summer' — Tuscany Shoot Wrapped

The Enola Holmes star is stepping behind the camera — and the cameras have already stopped rolling. Louis Partridge will headline and produce the indie coming-of-age film One Last Summer, marking his producing debut.
A move into producing
According to a Deadline report published on Friday, the 23-year-old English actor — known for playing Tewkesbury in Enola Holmes and for his role in House of Guinness — is set to star in the independent feature as Milo, alongside Mia Jenkins and Jude Carmichael. In a major career move, he is also producing the film, the first producing credit of his career.
The story
Written and directed by Misha Citron, the film is set over a weekend in the Tuscan countryside. Per the official logline, One Last Summer follows Milo (Partridge), who returns to the house of his late, estranged father with his best friend Zac (Carmichael). Milo is convinced into a double date with two American travellers that starts strong but sharply unravels, and each character must reckon with their past selves, who they are now, and what they are leaving behind in Italy. The film aims to capture the intensity of brief relationships in youth.
Already in the can
Filming has already wrapped in Tuscany, Italy. Partridge and Citron have co-founded Pipe Dream Films, the production company behind the project. Producing alongside them are Jim Parks, producer of Steven Soderbergh's The Christophers, with Maya Nurmohamed and Saskia Steinberg of Blue Lobster Productions. Additional casting is yet to be announced.
Why they made it
Speaking to Deadline, Partridge said: "As an actor and a first-time producer, I loved leaning into true creative collaboration. Our aim being to make the film for ourselves, as young people to enjoy first and foremost. In doing so we hope to create something simultaneously specific and with universal scope." Citron added: "I wanted to create a dynamic between the ensemble that reflected the charge and intimacy of youth, feeling the sweetness of attraction that is cruelly muddied by inevitable insecurity, fear, and, often unfortunately at this age, grief."
A familiar collaborator
The project reunites Partridge with a familiar face: Citron previously worked on Enola Holmes as a video assist trainee and production assistant on the 2020 film. For viewers who know Partridge through the Enola Holmes franchise — including the returning Enola Holmes 3 — this is a move into helping make the work as well as performing in it.
