Miranda Hart 'Murdered' in Celebrity Traitors as Maya, James and King Kenny Turn on the Beloved Comedian

The Celebrity Traitors has claimed one of its most beloved contestants. Comedian and Miranda star Miranda Hart was murdered by the show's traitors in the latest episode of the BBC series, with traitors Maya Jama, James Acaster and King Kenny deciding she was too good a detective to let live, according to The Sun. Hart found her fate in the diary room, opening the traitors' infamous letter — and reacted with a mix of fury and heartbreak.
Too good a detective
Acaster explained the trio's reasoning to viewers, saying: 'She's a good detective, she's looking at all of us, she is the most likely to wake up one day and say it's Maya, Kenny and James,' Brit Brief reported. The Sun reported that the traitors narrowed their shortlist to Miranda and fellow contestant Bash — actor Sebastian Croft — before settling on the comedian, while LADbible noted that Romesh Ranganathan was also among the names discussed in the tower.
The traitors were convinced Miranda was the most likely to expose them. The trio felt, as The Sun put it, that she 'could have caught them out' — so the beloved comedian became their next target.
An emotional goodbye
Learning of her murder, Hart said: 'No absolutely not, oh bottoms! I knew it.' She joked as she read the letter aloud before screwing it up and throwing it away, telling viewers: 'I am so cross with myself, I was wholly focusing on my Joanne issue.'
She grew emotional as she reflected on what the show meant to her, saying it had let her 'get back and do the thing that I love professionally, and do the things I love personally, wandering round the Scottish Highlands and connecting in nature,' adding: 'There were times I didn't think that would be possible again.' Hart has been open about her long-term illness and the fatigue it causes, which she has linked to a Lyme disease diagnosis, Brit Brief noted. Joanne McNally paid tribute, saying: 'That is a big big loss, that's a huge loss. She was really powerful. Miranda was like the mother.'
Joanne in the spotlight
The traitors knew killing Miranda would push suspicion onto McNally, after the two clashed on Thursday's show when Miranda accused the comedian of being a traitor, The Sun reported. LADbible noted that both Bash and Sharon Rooney named Joanne as their top suspect in confessionals — making the Irish comic the one to watch at the next round table.
Hart's departure makes her the 11th celebrity out of the game. Remaining are the three traitors — Maya, James and King Kenny — plus Faithfuls including Romesh, Sebastian, James Blunt, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Michael Sheen, alongside whoever survives the next banishment.
