Ric Flair Shares Health Update After Scary Tampa Fall: ‘I Will Be Okay!’
Ric Flair has told fans he is going to be okay. The wrestling legend shared a health update on social media after a frightening fall outside a restaurant in Tampa, Florida, posting a photo of himself wearing a patch taped over his right eye and thanking supporters and hospital staff for looking after him.
TMZ, which first reported the incident, said Flair had been at a Wagamama restaurant in Tampa on Friday when he got up from the bar, left his phone and drink behind and walked across the street. While outside, he fell and injured his face, cutting his head and eye open. Emergency medical personnel attended to him at the scene, and he was taken to hospital by ambulance.
His daughter, fellow wrestler Charlotte Flair, was quick to reassure fans. In a lighthearted post on X, she joked that her father had told the doctor he fell because a wrestler had dropped him on his head, before adding the words fans most wanted to hear: he was going to be okay.
Flair then gave his own update a day later, sharing the eye-patch photo on Instagram. In his message, he thanked fans for their support and the hospital staff for taking good care of him, and struck a determined note about what comes next. “I am focused on my healing and recovery right now. I will be okay!” he wrote, according to TMZ.
The scare came only hours after Flair had revealed a separate health worry. TMZ reported that he had told fans he was dealing with a blood clot in his leg, which meant he could not fly to a fan convention in Seattle. The fall, coming so soon after that announcement, made the weekend an especially worrying one for his supporters.
For now, though, the message from both father and daughter is the same: Flair is resting, recovering and in good spirits. Fans flooded his update with messages of support, and the man known as the Nature Boy appears determined to take his recovery one step at a time.
