Thursday night's episode of The Celebrity Traitors on BBC One delivered a double exit: EastEnders actor Ross Kemp was murdered in plain sight after falling for a cunning "yawn trap", and supermodel Jerry Hall was banished by her fellow players in the same show.

The trap that caught Kemp

The Traitors — Maya Jama, James Acaster and new recruit King Kenny — were tasked with murdering in plain sight by spraying a perfume from a peacock bottle into the castle library and then getting a Faithful to yawn and inhale it, the Dispatch Times reported. Kemp, 62, was the first to yawn, and Acaster sealed the murder with the line: "Sorry Ross, am I boring you?" — to which the unsuspecting actor simply replied: "No."

According to Brit Brief, Kemp opened an envelope in the Diary Room that read: "Dear Ross, by order of the Traitors, you have been murdered." The exit was an ironic one, the outlet noted, given that Kemp had spent the series paranoid about exactly this — he had previously suspected Bella Ramsey and Leigh-Anne Pinnock of murdering him in plain sight over innocent gestures.

Shakespeare and Grant Mitchell

In his farewell message, Kemp channelled both the Bard and his EastEnders alter ego, The Sun reported. "There's a great line from Shakespeare, I think it's Polonius's advice to his son: 'To thine own self be true.' I have been true to myself and I have been true to the Faithfuls," he said, before staring down the camera and warning: "Well played, Traitors, but you're always going to be Traitors, and I know where you live."

Maya Jama was remorseful, telling the camera, per the Dispatch Times: "Grant Mitchell, aka Ross Kemp, I loved you as a child, and I love you as a real person. You just fell into the worst trap ever, and I'm so sorry. Hopefully we can still be friends."

Jerry Hall's standing ovation

The 70-year-old American supermodel was banished after the majority of players voted against her, The Sun reported, with co-stars calling her a "professional pot-stirrer" and blaming her "icon" status — Miranda Hart suggested that "being an icon may have been your downfall." In her farewell she said: "I've loved being with you all. I've had the most fun. I haven't laughed so much in years. I have always been a faithful. I told you!" Host Claudia Winkleman told the room: "Players, you just banished a legend," as the cast gave Hall a standing ovation.
